§ 2 The purpose of the UWG is to cooperate in the local self-government of the municipality of Schöppingen for the benefit of its citizens and to represent their interests. This statutory purpose is realized in particular by the UWG, as a non-partisan voters' association, participating in local elections with its own proposals. The UWG pursues its goals within the framework of the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany.

§ 4 No dues are collected. The UWG finances its activities through donations and from the expense allowances paid by the municipality to the members of the UWG council group. The council group agrees on the amount of their personal compensation at the beginning of each legislative period. Any amounts paid by the municipality to council members above this fixed amount go into the UWG coffers. The expense allowances for the knowledgeable citizens are paid to them in full.

§ 5 Membership expires upon death, voluntary resignation, or expulsion. Expulsion shall be decided by the Board of Directors with a two-thirds majority. It shall become effective upon written notification stating the reasons for expulsion. The member concerned must be heard beforehand.

§ 6 The organs of the UWG are the general meeting and the board.

§ 7 The General Meeting shall be held annually in the first quarter. Notice shall be published in the daily press. It must be given at least seven days in advance.

The general meeting:

  • decides on the dissolution

The general meeting always has a quorum. Minutes of the general meeting must be recorded, signed by the chairperson and the secretary.

§ 8 The Executive Board consists of the Chair, the Vice Chair, the Treasurer, the Secretary, the Group Chair, and two assessors. The Executive Board is elected for the duration of one legislative period. The Executive Board within the meaning of Section 26 of the German Civil Code (BGB) consists of the Chair and one other member of the Executive Board.
